We are planning on utilizing Twitter & Facebook this year to help keep our customers informed of updates at the orchard. If you are a user of these services, please follow us on Twitter (we're @mtdo), or become a fan on FaceBook.
I will give you some basic information on the services. There are obviously much better overviews available, but this should get you started.
Twitter is a "microblogging" site, where people or organizations can post short notes about anything they want. Generally people will post about what they are doing, or something they read, etc. We at the orchard hope to post updates on the orchard, thoughts on the upcoming schedule, links to interesting articles we find, and anything else that comes to mind. Signing up for Twitter is simple and only requires an email address. You then "follow" people that you find interesting and their "tweets" will appear in your Twitter stream. You can use Twitter via your web browser, your phone, or via tools that have been developed to make tweeting easier. I personally like TweetDeck, but there are many tools available. FaceBook
is now the preeminent social networking site on the Internet. On FaceBook,
you setup a profile and then find "friends". These friends post items they
want and that shows up in your stream. For organizations or companies
(such as the orchard), you can become a "Fan". Anytime we post an update,
you will see it in your stream. To find us on FaceBook, you can either
search for More Than Delicious Orchard or click on the widget below.
